À la lumière des annonces faites lundi par le gouvernement fédéral concernant une subvention salariale pouvant atteindre 75 % pour les premiers 58 700 dollars, et aussi la suspension du paiement des loyers pour les autorités aéroportuaires, l’UCET appelle tous les employeurs qui ont déjà procédé à des licenciements ou signifié des avis en ce sens, à les annuler.

L’objectif des subventions financières et des programmes d’aide du gouvernement fédéral est d’éliminer le stress supplémentaire que subissent des Canadiens et Canadiennes concernant la perte de leur emploi, tout en essayant de faire ce qu’il convient dans la lutte contre COVID-19. Nos membres ne devraient pas avoir à s’inquiéter de leur santé actuelle ni de leur survie future.

Dans son message quotidien, le Premier ministre Justin Trudeau a demandé à toutes les entreprises de réembaucher toutes les personnes qu’elles ont licenciées. Nos membres s’attendent à être traités comme tous les autres Canadiens.

L’UCET a écrit à tous les employeurs qui nous ont fait part de leur intention de licencier des membres, pour exiger que leurs emplois soient rétablis.
